The Department of Pathology at the University of TN Medical Center Knoxville has a threefold mission: service, education, and research. The residency and new fellowship offers case volumes per year over 30,000 surgical pathology specimens, 50,000 cytology specimens, and ample clinical pathology cases. The Cancer Institute offers a spectrum of complex oncologic pathology cases. Residents obtain their choice fellowship(s) in a variety of subspecialties with most positions in private practice.
